To ensure every investor is able to invest in the right financial products based on their needs, monitor their investments effectively, access research insights, and achieve financial well-being.

Services Provided by the Research Analyst

The Research Analyst provides the following services:

  • Publishing research reports based on detailed market analysis.
  • Providing independent and unbiased views on securities.
  • Offering research recommendations based on publicly available information and analysis.
  • Disclosing financial interests or conflicts of interest in recommended securities, if any.
  • Ensuring all advertisements comply with SEBI regulations.
  • Maintaining records of interactions with clients and prospective clients.
  • Conducting required regulatory and compliance audits.
Client Onboarding and Disclosures

Before providing services, the Research Analyst will:

  • Share Terms and Conditions of research services.
  • Complete KYC formalities for fee-paying clients.
  • Disclose key information including business activities, risks, conflicts of interest, and disciplinary history (if any).
  • Inform clients about the use of Artificial Intelligence tools, if applicable.
  • Provide necessary disclosures while sharing third-party research reports.
  • The Research Analyst will also:

  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Distribute research recommendations to clients without discrimination.
  • Provide appropriate caution while recommending complex or high-risk financial products.
  • Respect client data privacy and confidentiality.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism

Investors can raise complaints through the following channels:

  1. Research Analyst: Clients may directly contact the Research Analyst. Complaints will be addressed within 21 days of receipt.
  2. SCORES Platform: Investors can register complaints on SEBI’s online grievance system: https://scores.sebi.gov.in
  3. Two-Level Review System:
    • First review by RAASB (Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body)
    • Second review by SEBI
  4. SMARTODR Platform: If the complaint remains unresolved, investors may approach the SMARTODR platform for online conciliation or arbitration.

Rights of Investors

Investors have the right to:

  • Transparent and fair practices
  • Adequate and accurate information
  • Fair and true advertisements
  • Timely grievance redressal
  • Be informed about service timelines
  • Receive clear guidance when dealing with high-risk financial products
  • Exit services as per agreed terms and conditions
  • Protection against unfair contractual clauses
Responsibilities of Investors

Do’s:

  • Deal only with SEBI-registered Research Analysts.
  • Verify the SEBI registration number on the SEBI website.
  • Read research reports and disclosures carefully before investing.
  • Make payments only through authorized banking channels.
  • Seek clarification before acting on research recommendations.
  • Report any Research Analyst promising assured returns to SEBI.

Don’ts:

  • Do not provide funds for investment to the Research Analyst.
  • Do not rely on market rumors or misleading advertisements.
  • Do not share trading, demat, or bank account credentials with the Research Analyst.
  • Do not get influenced by promotional schemes, gifts, or incentives.
